Your Tennessee state society is working to put a Respiratory Therapy specialty license plate on the road — but production cannot start until we pre-sell 1,000 plates. Use the progress tracker above for the current count, then order when you’re ready.
How it works
The Tennessee DMV requires pre-sales of 1,000 plates before production can begin. Here’s what you need to know:
- Anyone can purchase — you don’t have to be an AARC/TNSRC member. Family, friends, and neighbors are welcome to show their support for the profession.
- Buy more than one — consider one for every vehicle in your household. Plates are not linked to your current registration.
- Do not wait for tag renewal — this is a separate, standalone purchase. We simply need 1,000 pre-sold.
- Cost is $35.00 per plate plus a $1.50 handling fee. If we don’t reach 1,000 plates by year’s end, your $35.00 is fully refunded — you’re only out the $1.50 handling fee.
- Once 1,000 plates are sold, TNSRC will submit funds to the TN Department of Revenue to begin production. Finished plates will be distributed to DMV locations statewide, and you’ll be notified to pick yours up.
- Your purchase gives back — when the goal is met, TNSRC receives a portion of annual plate revenue to fund scholarships and support our profession.
